Roar Of Relief (RoR) Student Mission Teams exist to serve God through their service in various communities and are committed to representing the light and character of Christ through their service and their conduct, both in public and private settings and situations.

In order to remain accountable to each other, to family and friends, to the people they serve, and to God, all team members will abide by this code of conduct during their time on the trip, and in their interactions with each other and the public.

Team Members assume individual responsibility and accountability for their actions.
RoR Mission Teams also adhere to the rules, policies, standards, and agreements held by any entities or organizations they may be serving under.

Team Standards

In order to remain accountable to each other, to family and friends, to the people we serve, and to God, all of our board and team members will abide by standards during our time together on our trips and in our interactions with each other and the public that best exemplify His character. Our Mission Teams will also adhere to the rules, policies, standards, agreements, and expectations held by any entities or organizations we may be serving under. And ultimately, each one of us will assume responsibility for our actions and behavior, both good and bad.

RoR Mission Teams exist to spread the love of Christ in their actions, inactions, words, silence, and demeanor. We aim to achieve this in a manner that conveys a genuine image of Christ Himself and of His Spirit working through us. Therefore, we affirm our personal belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and commit to abide by the following standards during our time both in the field and in private.

Pride In The Name Of God

We believe that, as born-again Christians, we have been granted the Name of the Father by adoption through His Son. Therefore, in our words and actions, we take pride in His Name and are not ashamed to identify ourselves or be identified by others as His children.

Exemplification Of The Character Of God

Having been granted adoption to His Name, we believe that God works in our lives through His Holy Spirit. Therefore, having His Spirit in us, we strive to allow His character and His love to drive our actions and personalities. As He has commanded us, we speak life, love, gratitude, grace, mercy, justice, and humility over all with whom we come in contact.

Integrity To The Person Of God

Foundational to displaying His Character to others, we believe that as Children of God, we love Him with everything He has given us. Therefore, we choose to display His Character in private as well as in public, and act with righteousness and integrity toward God, our Father, Savior, Redeemer, and Friend, and toward ourselves, the work of His hands, the crown of His creation, and the Temple in which we invite Him to dwell and through which we enable Him to work His purpose.

Devotion To The Knowledge Of God

As Children of God and bearers of His Name, we are eager to grow closer to Him and to learn more about Him. We also take great joy in sharing Him with others. We spend time ourselves in His Word, individually, as a Team, and together with anyone He chooses to unite us with during our trip, learning, sharing, and growing closer to him and to one another through a deeper understanding of Him through Scripture.

Deference To The Holiness And Sovereignty Of God

As the work of His hands and the instruments of His plan, we choose to glorify Him in joy and gratitude for the things He has done for us and through us, and chiefly for His gift of salvation. Therefore, in all that we do, we assume an attitude of humility, taking pride only in the work that He does through us, in constant gratitude that He deems us worthy to be the vessels of His purpose.

Team Conduct

These are general rules that hold true in general and on most trips. Team Leads may alter these rules as needed for the conditions of each individual trip.

Privacy & Safety

Team Members will not share the exact locations of any personal residences or establishments that the team is traveling to or working at. Team Members will not share any content related to the trip via social media, or by any form of direct or indirect communication, without the express permission of the Team Lead or Co-Lead.

Lodging & Co-Habitation

RoR Mission teams may receive lodging under the provision of an organization or individual with or for whom they are working at the time. Team Members will not enter or attempt to enter the lodging area provided for the opposite gender.

Self Care

Volunteers should disclose any dietary or environmental restrictions that may affect their ability to safely or comfortably serve on the trip prior to departure or as soon as they are aware of said limitations.

Volunteer service requires potentially intense physical and manual labor and interpersonal interactions, which can be physically or mentally demanding for Team Members. Team Members are encouraged to be open with the Mission Team Lead and Co-Lead in the event that they feel the need to take a break or have some other need to be met. Team Leads will ensure privacy and confidentiality in the event that anything private is shared, except in situations that pose imminent harm to the individual, Team Members, or others. Team Members will have no obligation to explain or share with the rest of the team.

Personal Conduct

Team Members are expected to demonstrate personal accountability and responsibility in their interactions with others. Team Members should refrain from involving themselves in interpersonal conflicts and disputes, engaging in private or secluded interactions with members of the opposite gender, and engaging in interactions with one another at the expense of team activities or common time.

Team Members will not cause any disruption or unrest during their stay, but will display the character of Christ in their behavior and interactions. Team Members will act with grace, respect, and gratitude toward the rules and expectations of those hosting the team.

Digital Conduct

Team Members are expected to limit their mobile device usage to downtime in their lodging areas. Team Members will avoid using mobile devices during working times or daytime breaks when interacting with other volunteers or community members. Team Members may keep devices with them if desired, but should limit usage that limits or hinders meaningful interactions with others.

The Mission Team Lead and Co-Lead will have access to the Mission Team Contact Number in case of emergencies.
